Eichel = Matthews >> Draistail > Reinhart >> Bennett

Edit : Wait -

Mittelstadt >> Eichel = Matthews >> Draisaitl = Kunitz > Reinhart >> Bennett

Mittelstadt is so good that they have to create a brand new mathematical operator in order to define him.  The top 10 mathematicians in the world have been teamed up to work on this.  You can expect the results in 15 years.

Lies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mittselstadt came up with his own mathematical  operator to define him when he was 9 and bored during summer camp while writing his dissertation that proved Einstein's theory of relativity.

I mean, Sam and Leon are not close right now though. Draisaitl just dominated teams in the playoffs and was top 10 in points per game, and Sam had a forgettable year. Sure, McDavid helped Leon, but Sam spent the year with Jack who we all know is quite good himself. And while McDavid will boost anyone's numbers, Drai's playoff heroics were all on himself.

I mean I'm not saying their close, but I don't believe in lumping Reinhart in with the players you listed.

They will still have trouble maneuvering with the likes of Lucic on board, who's contract is only going to get worse. I won't give the guy who screwed over Boston's cap the benefit of the doubt that he can manage it, this time.

Still underselling Sam, here, 47 points is good for a sophomore, especially considering his coach and how he was utilized. Jack missed 1/4 of the season, and I know Reinhart wasn't playing with him the entire time he was in the lineup, either.

What's your list? Matthews > Draisaitl > Eichel > ............... Sam Bennett > Reinhart?

Matthews = Eichel > Draisatil >> Reinhart >> Bennett

Eichel > Matthews >> Draisaitl >> Reinhart >>>> Bennett = Larkin

Eichel = Matthews >> Draistail > Reinhart >> Bennett

Edit : Wait -

Mittelstadt >> Eichel = Matthews >> Draisaitl = Kunitz > Reinhart >> Bennett

That edit is amazing though :lol:

Actually, it's a little known fact that Mittelstatdt couldn't even read until the age of 12.  He had never even tried to read anything until he randomly grabbed a copy of War and Peace.

Who is that?

Jordan Leandre.

He is a child cancer survivor.  When he was a sick kid, they let him run the bases at Fenway before a game or between innings or something.  He's been back to throw out the first pitch a few times since his cancer went into remission.

I didn't lump him in with them any more than I lumped him in with Draisaitl. I literally listed them as players who are as far away in one direction as Draisaitl is in the other, and since my point is that Sam and Draisaitl aren't close, then it follows that I was saying that those guys aren't close to Sam.

"these guys are closer to catching Sam than Sam is to Leon" to me, reads "Sam is closer to this type of player than he is this type of player"

Statistically last year they were, which is why I listed them, to emphasize that Sam and Leon aren't close.

At this point we're just going to argue semantics

Well, this is based on what?  Pure point differential?

Are you accounting for the probability/potential that any of those players could hit the number Reinhart was at?  If the probability they could reach Reinhart is 1-5% and 0% that they could reach 5 points more than Reinhart and the probability of Reinhart getting 5 more points next season is 95% and he has a 30% chance of hitting Draisaitl numbers then you'd have to say that Reinhart is closer to Draisaitl than the other players are closer to Reinhart... wouldn't you?

Because there is no way Franson is closer to Reinhart than Reinhart is to Draisaitl.

No. What I said was that those guys were closer to catching Sam in scoring than Sam was to Draisaitl. This is a correct statement and I meant to imply no more and no less.

For the record, I'm not totally convinced a 40 something point forward is closer to being a top 10 scorer in the league than he is to being a very good 3rd pairing D that was still decent in a second pairing role, and was capable of being a positive possession player on our dumpster fire team, though. But this is the first time I've indicated that. Before this, it was all about point differentials which are cut and dry.

I thought it odd that there was no thread, but as of now the link only appears on the main page. I think there may be many threads I am missing.
