I remember Intellivision.  That was a hot upgrade and only a few people I knew could afford it/had it.

My brothers and I had many epic battles on that intellivision baseball game.  Actually, I don't know if that's the same one or not because there were two versions of the game that looked identical.  One was easier to differentiate between ground balls and fly balls or something like that.

I decided to maximize the amount of sun light that shines into my house. So I slashed a few bushes, removed some shades and got a few other obstructions out of the windows and yesterday it was really warm inside even though it was not a warm day outside. I felt stupid for not doing this sooner but then I went for a ride and was looking at everyone's house and all the windows were shaded from the light. What a waste! They probably had the heat on, too.

Then I got to thinking about how few skylights there are. I'm going to have a few installed soon and bigger windows also. Its kind of a waste here in the northeast to block out so much warm sunlight. Someday maybe the roofs will be made of plexiglass

I have a Dallas Stars mooterus jersey (unnamed) for pond hockey because the design is so god awful hilarious. Fun to wear the mooterus as the only girl on the ice.

I've decided it will be my Ugly Sweater for ugly sweater christmas parties. It's even got red and green on it!

Interesting. He used the old incandescence lights as a measure but the new LED lights are incredibly low energy usage. A 10 watt bulb kicks out what an old  60 watt did. But it still looks cool. I'm more interested in sun light for heat and more windows just to see out and let air in.

And then Thursday I have to make the choice between a 3rd period where Eichel may score a goal (no way I want to miss one of those) and the beginning of a huge Bills game, and I still hate missing those (not sure how much longer that's going to last). I'm sure that choice is a no-brainer for many here, but I'm torn. #firstworldproblems

I wonder how the convention in box scores and schedules of listing the home team on the bottom or the right came to be.  My two theories are:

1. Miami at Buffalo is much easier to say/write than Buffalo hosting Miami.  It sounds better too.

2. It was born from baseball, where the home team bats second.

Today is the 40th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

I had a massive fascination with shipwrecks as a little kid. Had family friends who were on the Ford, a ship that searched for it. My mum had spent some time on the Ford as well. It's interesting that every year I notice November 10th for that reason, and every year it has rained/been gross weather that day.

The beer and the song are pretty good, too.

Extra points for original newspaper clippings!

Yeah, that's quite the story too. Thanks for posting!

Our family friends knew all the men on Big Fitz. She stopped in Toledo quite often, and it was always kind of a "oh hey go look, the biggest freighter is in town again" according to my parents. I've been on a few freighters, none that size of course, and it's just mind bending what happened to her.

One thing's for sure. Her earlier reflections on Camus may have been an academic exercise at the time, but now they will define her worldview for the rest of her life, however short that may be.

Schoenfeld, Korab, young Playfair, Ramsey arrived after the Olympics.

So is this 1979 or 1980? Reagan is on the campaign trail.

Good question. For some reason I was sure it at least started in 1979. Still snow on the ground but with patches of no snow, so maybe it's like March 1980 or November 1979.

Did you watch season 1? If so, you'll know how this season "ends".

No mention of the hostages that I've picked up on, so maybe October/early November. I did watch Season 1. The only connection I'm making is that Lou's kid Molly grows up to be the deputy in Season 1. I'm kind of glad my memory is going. I want to be surprised.
