I think I might be less annoyed with Lombardi if Sutter isn't coming along as well. Still think Tim Murray was and is a good talent finder as far as drafting.

Kevin Dineen for head coach anyone?

Only issue is we can't even talk to him until the Preds finish the playoffs and I think they could go on a run.

Yeah it isn't like the NFL where you get a window to interview playoff coaches. But I certainly prefer taking coaches from successful teams rather than available retreads

Presidents trophy and Stanley Cup Final appearance is pretty damn good. He'll look like freaking Tortorella compared to DB 😂

Yet you want Ron Wilson?!

There are good reasons why Lindy Ruff is not the right coach for this team, and the main one is that the goaltending isn't good enough for his preferred system.  Jay McKee's dirty shinpad isn't a good reason.

Won the toughest division in hockey last year.  And, as usual, not with the most talented team, either.

Sutter and Ruff don't like playing young players, while the Sabres need to give their young prospects a chance in the next couple of years.

Last year. Peter L. got wracked from Carolina after winning the cup.

I'm right there with you man. Ruff is an excellent HC and we'd be lucky to have him back imo. He knows the game, great with young talent and has fire in him to win.

I think you missed the "it's not me" part.  He would have to change up his preferred system to play with this roster.

That's why I used the phrase "preferred system."  I don't think he'd be the worst decision, of course, far from it.

Point taken.

Wouldn't mind him coming back. Would prefer to have a non-Sabre coaching though the last one they hired did not work out.
