The thread for this is on page 3 and is the Summer Movie Thread or somesuch. Maybe a quick merge to have a Movie thread instead of seasonal?

Well, Mr. Smarty Pants.  That's the summer movie thread and it's fall.  And I can't merge anything.

And and ... what do you think of your Jays now, Mr. Smarty Pants.

I missed their utter collapse drinking away my stress on a 8 day cruise through the Caribbean. From the sounds of it I was better off not watching them poop the bed against what I thought was a very beatable Indians team. The same trouble comes up in that a team that lives by the long ball can look really bad when the bats go cold.

Well, their bats were a bit better (for average) than Cleveland's, but Cleveland had more timely hits.

Cleveland's pitching, especially the pen, was just a bit better.

I think both of the big bat free agents will be leaving.

Don't cry.

I believe they will make every effort to bring Votto home to Toronto.

Not sure why we are discussing this in the movie thread, but I must have messed it up along the way.

I rewatched The Shining last night. Probably the 6th or 7th time I've seen it.

It was on the big screen. Oh. My. God.

It is the greatest movie ever.

Quick - Need a legit horror movie released in the last decade.  What's worth watching?

Watched "Something About Mary" with my friend on Friday.

It was pretty good, but Ben Stiller was not his comedic best and what's her name doesn't do it for me.

The Witch

The Witch is soooo good! It's also a period piece, set in colonial America.

The plot/resolution is eh, but I LOOOOOOVE the way its shot. The 70s esque zooms make that house look like a damn castle.

Doctor Strange starts in 10 minutes. I'm going into this one thoroughly confused/very open minded. Very not well known character, freaking obscure actually. I remember him being mentioned in an animated series or 2 back in the 90s, but I really have no clue what I'm getting into.

PS - movies are expensive on Saturday night.

Cool movie. Very cool.

2 after credits scenes, as per usual these days in marvel movies.

I though that movie was crap, I mean demonic goats, really.... It nearly put me to sleep. Plus shots of the boy looking at his sisters boobs all movie, weird. At the beginning I wish they would have gone into why the exile occurred more.

Overall it gets a D-

A very good, but often disturbing movie.

IMO, MLK is an American hero.

I did like this aspect about it. I've been on a horror movie binge lately, I ###### hate them but they're good to watch with someone. Just saw The Descent and Demonic last night. Honestly haven't been actually scared by any of them yet. Gonna watch Mama, Lights Out, Don't Breath, and Insidious next

Jeepers Creepers was a great movie IMO

Selma is incredible. One of the most egregious oscar snubs in recent memory. Ava duvernay is an incredible director.

They couldn't use MLK's actual speech so the writers wrote their own version of his speeches. The result is pretty amazing.

Really? I hope you're right -- I thought I read recently that it was probably spring 2017, with no date determined yet.

Season 2 was the best show on TV in 2015 IMHO.

From what I read it's definitely not happening until spring.  The setting is winter so they can't/couldn't start filming until around now.  They need snow.

Awesome movie. Most people like the movie but hate the ending. I thought the ending was awesome! If you're a Walking Dead fan there's at least 3 cast members (Carol, Dale, and Andrea) who have major parts as well. Could be more but I'm going off memory.

I loved The Mist, including the ending.

Agree with nfreeman that Fargo S2 was the best thing on TV all last year by a mile.  Incredibly compelling and original.

I did 20 years ago when it came out. Ray Allen has been Jesus Shuttleworth ever since.
