How do you embed an animated gif on the forum?

Question speaks for itself. I tried to post eleven's gif of Jack hula hooping but all I could manage was to post the link.

Use the "More Reply Options" button.  That gives you a bunch of icons over the text field.  Select the "image" icon.  Past the link into the window that pops up.

I tried that and got a "you are not allowed to use that image extension in this community" error.

Ahhh.  yes.  Only certain files extensions can be attached that way.  If it ends in .gif it works.

An alternative is to save it to an image hosting site like Instagram or Photobucket and then copy/paste the link from that site.
