The matchups are official:

Boston - Detroit
Pittsburgh - Columbus
Tampa - Montreal
Philadelphia - NYR

Colorado - Minnesota
Anaheim - Dallas
Chicago - St. Louis
San Jose - Los Angeles

Teams with home ice advantage are on the left.

I think Detroit could upset Boston, and that Chicago vs. St. Louis series is going to be entertaining.

San Jose

Ok I was very confused for a second.  I know the blues have not been great down the stretch but I thought they had home ice.  Man that's going to be a great series.  Not sure the blues even make it out of the first round and therefore we need miller signing before the draft to end up with that late first.

Boston was Detroit's b*tch this year. The Wings have the speed to push the tempo. They win by forcing Boston to make mistakes.

But how often do we see the dominant team in the regular season become the other teams ###### in the playoffs? If I we're betting on it my money would be on Boston. Now I'm going to puke.

I'd love to see Boston knocked out first round. That's what they get for blowing their wad to end the regular season on top.

....but don't we get a boost in that pick if St. Louis makes it to the WCF?

Awesome, well done guys.

So do we each send in our own picks, or do we collectively decide on the board and then send them in?

I set this up as a league for us to put in our own picks.

I wouldn't mind a SabreSpace "consensus entry" in the public bracket challenge, but I'm not going to be the guy who tries to obtain that consensus here!

Well I had to sign in through my NHL account so I'm Kirch937 for those wondering.

In the Conference Finals I've got

West:
Anaheim vs. Colorado

East:
Montreal vs. Pittsburgh

Cup Finals:
Anaheim vs. Montreal

Winner: Anaheim in 6 games, 37 goals

Nice, I thought I would be alone on having Montreal go that far.

I think they're the only team in the East, them and maybe NYR, that could beat Boston. Goal-tending baby

Montreal seems to be a popular pick, for good reason.

The East is tough. Without bias I would probably go with Boston, but I can't bring myself to it. Montreal has the talent. Pittsburgh could make a run, but they NEED Letang to play at a high level to do that. He cost them last year in the playoffs. MAF, too.

I could see NY finally make a run just because Henrik, but I switched my pick from them to Montreal.

That series would be incredible to watch. Original 6, a Canadian team back in the finals (Montreal's first appearance since 1993), and the two best crowds in the league. Chicago beating Montreal, that would be my dream Finals

I had filled and saved a bracket yesterday, and when I signed in it automatically made that my picks for this league so I didn't have to redo it, and had the same outcome. The look of the series with  the iconic sweaters would be amazing.

Detroit beats Beantown
Pitt comes out over the Jackets, But it will be close (my dark horse for most entertaining first round series in the east)
Montreal and Tampa go to 7, and Bishop steals the show
I think Philly takes it to the Rangers.

Im gonna take Minny over Colorado
Anaheim over Dallas
Miller stuns the Hawks
LA over the sharks.

Final
St Louis over Detroit

Tampa - Montreal           X. Benny sez........Montreal for no other reason than they are peaking    Montreal in 6
Philadelphia - NYR         X. Benny sez........Philly the better team, but Lundquist is the difference...Rangers in 6

Colorado - Minnesota     X. Benny sez........Colorodo is young talent but Minnesota is a tough out....Minnesota in 7
Anaheim - Dallas            X. Benny sez........All logic says Anaheim, that's why I'm going with..............Dallas in 6
Chicago - St. Louis         X. Benny sez.......It's not Miller, it's St. Looooey's depth, but can they score?  St. Louis in 6

You really see the Grand Rapids Griffins getting that far? I admit I'm a homer for thinking/hoping they might eke out a win over Boston but I don't expect a deep run. I have hope because we were more blah last year and still took Chicago to OT game 7.

Detroit (assuming this lightning in a bottle team chemistry isn't upset by Z coming back from injury)
Pittsburgh
Montreal ( I'd love Tampa, but I fear without Bishop they're belly-up)
Philadelphia  (hate flyers, but I think they'll find a new gear in round 1)

Colorado
Anaheim
Chicago
Los Angeles ( I really hope I'm wrong on this one, but the Sharks always choke. I've been burned before)

I will shamelessly be wearing the winged wheel everywhere for a while, as I've apologized on this board before for being from Detroit land. After all, won't be more than a year or two before I'll be torn between Sabres and Wings in the playoffs ;)

Sucks that you can only have one bracket for multiple leagues, but whatevs.
