Bob McKenzie@TSNBobMcKenzie 17s

Rumors abound of a potential shakeup in the executive suite of Buffalo Sabres. I've asked the principals for comment. No response thus far.

Executive side is Black, Benson, and Sawyer.

Sounds like some more front office dysfunction with the Sabres. Word should get out soon.

This guy covers the Islanders and he calls the Sabres Front Office Dysfunctional????

Nobody should be shaking up anything in leadership 4 days before the trade deadline.

I know nothing, but I'm going to speculate. Pegula probably wants PLF as an alternate on the BOG.
That means Black or Sawyer steps back. Probably Sawyer.

But I don't know a thing, but I have been wondering if it was going to happen. I'd be surprised if this was a big deal on the hockey side.

Terry is not happy with the snick snack selection in the vending machines. The new Butterfinger peanut butter cup gummed up some of his bridgework. New vendor! I'm calling it. This could be the biggest such shakeup at Seymour H. Knox Plaza since OSP put in a dollar and his Snickers just hung there.

Maybe he's pissed at the trade and wanted more say in the move?

@FriedgeHNIC: Something is up with Pat LaFontaine and the Buffalo Sabres.

Also worth wondering if he's mad that Murray has said he's going to keep Nolan around?

May be relevant today: LaFontaine quit Isles after 40 days in 2006 when Wang hired Snow and Pat didn't have any input.

I have inquired with both Pat LaFontaine and Ted Black about the current Internet chatter. No response as of yet, same as with TSN. #Sabres

Or LaFontaine is mentioned because he is the face of the organization. It's like saying Manning and the broncos head to NYC for the Super Bowl.

Maybe they are dumping their regular catering service for a new one? And maybe they are doing it to launder money out of the country to a top player to convince them to sign in Buffalo!

Makes you think...

BTW, if this is PLF walking away, we're officially the most dysfunctional we've ever been.  Which is actually astonishing given all the hope we had when Pegula took over 3 years ago.

If PLF quits I will personally break into FNC and tear down his number and then post a video of myself burning it. Still early so I won't buy the lighter fluid yet.

I would hope someone quit over yesterday's massacre.   Not everyone could have been on board with that.  That substantially alterred the direction and future of the franchise.

If we're just going to speculate wildly, I'll admit that this occurred to me too.  That "interim" tag has been an elephant in the room.  Another reason why completely changing your leadership mid-season, picking a new coach, and THEN picking a new GM was a really F'ed up way to do things.

What do you mean? You would not have done that trade? What, held out for more when you know both players could just walk away at end of season? This was a no brainer trade

No.  Hiring an INTERIM coach and saying the future GM has the ability to decide on the coaches future.  Then fighting for that interim coach is the F'ed up way to do things.

This is all speculation but if this over Nolan then PLF needs to get out.  It's an interim coach, let the GM do his job.  The last thing we want is people making hockey decisions who shouldn't be making hockey decisions
