Looks like that's what it'll take to beat out Edmonton though.

I don't mean to take a shot at anyone here, and going forward, history doesn't matter much, but if you want to know what this rebuild would've looked like 4 years from now, had Regier NOT been canned? I think Edmonton is where you need to look.

Never did I see a team with so much talent, stink so outrageously bad.

I fear this is exactly what we would've been in for.

Someone (I don't think here; I think it was a reporter on twitter) said that Thursday's lineup may have been the worst in Sabres history.  Should have waited a couple of days.

I'm flabbergasted that they're even winning games. It's amazing how bad this roster is and yet...

Chalk it up to the Miracles of Miller.  Especially when you consider that 1/3 to 1/2 of the D Corps isn't NHL caliber on some nights in the persons of Alka-Sulzer, McPain, and the Grill (Weber). That, in addition to several offensively challenged Forwards.  Tank on baby!

Flynn, OMG, I would of put.............
It does look kind of bleak but you never know, maybe with Flynn and Ennis's quickness, they can make something happen. The line may put on some pressure, but it's missing a finisher, but I guess that could be said of the whole team.

Yep, this is AHL quality stuff right here, and even then, idk how many games we'd win there..... How much of this is Teddy, I mean it kinda has to be, beating decent teams, staying in games we shouldn't

Then again I think we lose by 3 or 4 today

I mentioned on thursday that it may have been the worst defense that the team has ever iced.  But yeah, this lineup is about as bad as any I have ever seen for any team.  This ranks with some of the expansion teams first year lineups.

Want to have some fun?  Go back to February 2007 and look at the "depleted" roster affectionately known as the Saberks.  I weep at how not-bad that roster looks compared to what we have now.

Kotalik started out well, and managed to get that big shot off more often than not, then turned into a world class floater with the rest of the floaters, once it became apparent floating was ok.

Loved his shot, loved him in the shootouts, but once he stopped skating in games, he became next to useless.

I wonder if Kotalik's drop off was due to how brutal that team was from an attitude perspective. Another one of those guys who could be motivated to follow the leader. But without one he became listless.

I would add Nolan to the chalk it up comment - seems to me this motley crewe really enjoys playing for him and he seems to maximize whatever talent he has. Although the lack of offensive finish is glaring .......

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if that was it.

I think you could argue that case for most of the team, even Roy.

And I also agree Zhitnik was underrated, he only had two flaws in his game - He had no shot, and he had a knack for taking stupid penalties at crucial times.

I remember watching his first game with the Isles against the Sabres, I believe the Sabres won 6-5, 6-4 or something. It was a draw late, then Zhitnik took a penalty. I remember telling my buddy "Sabres score, it's Z in the box". Lo and behold, they did.

Zhitnik costing a late PP goal seemed as sure as death and taxes.

*Edit
May have the game wrong, might not have been the 6-4 game.

Has anyone heard anything about why Omark is in the doghouse?  All I've heard is Teddy saying that it doesn't make sense for him to play on the 4th line, and the forwards who are playing on the other lines are playing better than he is.
