It's going to be interesting to see if other teams make a move on either of them before the Olympic break.

Reality check tonight.  As much as people want Stafford gone not having in him in the lineup would hurt tonight.  Assuming Leino will be out and Omark will be in?

#Pens lines looked like: Kunitz-Crosby-Gibbons, Jokinen-Malkin-Neal, Glass-Sutter-Megna, Pyatt-Adams-Engelland. 44-7, 4-58, 3-2 on D.

@PensInsideScoop
Looks like Gibbons may return. He missed the last 5 games. Activated from IR on Saturday. Skated with Crosby/Kunitz #Pens -SK

The most annoying part of outdoor games is having to listen to them tell me how "special" the game is for hours upon end.  Personally, I think of them as games played on bad ice with poor sight lines.  But I get the feeling that 10 years from now after countless outdoor games we'll still have to hear over and over how "special" every ###### outdoor game is.  The over-romanticizing of the occasion gets nauseating after a while.

Yea, Stafford is decent on the pk and the only real RW we have so he stays and since we aren't playing for a Stanley Cup or even playoffs, I am fine with it.

I agree with you. It lost its luster by scheduling so many. I wasn't around Saturday to see that game so I recorded it. After listening to all the hype about being 'special' and then seeing the pregame ceremonies, I just erased it. If they're trying to promote the game, they're laying it on a little thick.

2019: The NHL has awarded an expansion team to San Diego. The new team will be called the Suns because they play their entire 48-game home schedule in an outdoor arena.

Yep, they do. NBCSN/NBC/NHL Network get priority over local broadcasts. Although I could have sworn one of the Flyers game down here was on Comcast sports and blacked out on NBCSN.

I hate the Pens, but we still need to lose to distance ourselves from Edmonton- who thankfully won big last night.

We're 3 points back, but we have four games in hand.

Tomorrow night against the Caps, is Leino still on the first line, back to the fourth line or in the press box?

I think it doesn't matter too much re: Edmonton.  They have to take Ekblad (or another defenseman), so we'd still get our pick of the top forwards.  That is unless a third team wins the draft lottery and bumps us down a spot...

Thankfully we're only averaging .7 PPG. With the improved play under Nolan those games in hand would amount to three points depending on the schedule. So we need to slow down a bit or have Edmonton step it up.
