OMG why?  This doesn't make any sense for either party.

Probably end up scoring more goals than Stafford.

@DaveDavisHockey Contrary to reports, the Sabres are not in on Jagr. Read what his agent told me moments ago: http://bit.ly/186ynfv

The reports you've been reading linking the Sabres as a possible destination for Jaromir Jagr are not true.
I spoke moments ago with former Sabres defenseman and now Jagr's agent Petr Svoboda, and he told me that the Sabres have not expressed interest to him about his client.  "No, they did not (contact us)," Svoboda said.

When I brought up the Czech report linking the Sabres as one of the teams in the mix, Svoboda's response was: "It's a guessing game I think, you know?", implying that the rumor mill has gotten a bit out of hand with this one.

Splash goes the cold water!

He'll be brought in just to "mentor" the young forwards.

I'm just glad Jagr was cleared of those animal molestation charges when he was battling Marfan's as a younger player in Pittsburgh.

GO SABRES!!!

The only time reports like this come up, it's because reporters have been spending too much time on Twitter and assume that the speculation came from SOMEWHERE credible.

Or they just want hits.

In Jagr you get help on the wing and a tested vet. Overpay for him now, and trade him at deadline to a contender.
Sabres get 50 some games and whatever return they can get at deadline.

Dallas got two prospects and a 2nd rounder doing the same thing last year.

I mentioned in the Tallinder thread (RIP) that Jagr would be a vet that makes sense.  He makes sense even without the return at the deadline.

Iw ould love to have him here, but it seems not to be so.

They got Boston's 1st out of that deal actually.  Anyway, I realize they're probably not seriously looking into this signing, but with this current state of rebuild, I really wouldn't mind having a future HoFer to watch, even if he is north of 40.

Yahoo blogger cites a Czech journal.

Quote

Czech publication Lidovky.cz examined the derby on Monday and revealed that there’s mostly talk “about Montreal, Carolina, Ottawa and Buffalo.”

Kukla cites Jagr's agent.

As was discussed this morning on HH, it wouldn't be the MOST retarded thing to bring him in, give him a good paycheck, have him provide leadership and set an example, and then ship him at the deadline to a contender for a little bit of return.  Take it or leave it.

He's slower than the second coming. Anyone pay attention during the playoffs ? He was a hooking and holding machine. During the regular season when they actually call that stuff he'd be absolutely worthless.

agree and he falls over  a lot and gets up slowly. (I do that too )  ..old, tired, cheap ,past his prime and on his way to the HOF..perfect for the Sabres and apparently other posters too.. some of the same ones that tell you the Sabres have to get younger and that Vanek and Miller are past their prime. lol thank god his agent said the Sabres were not on his list.

This isn't happening. It's not even like a "fantasy" thing because this move doesn't really do anything for us other than solidify us as a "middle-of-the-pack" team again, ensuring a mediocre pick.
