I don't hate on the Bruins for the Lucic thing, it's done with as far as I am concerned. My hate for Boston runs deep and across many sports. Outside of hockey, I don't mind Toronto at all.

Couldn't have said this better myself. I can't stand any sports team from Boston. Been a life long hater of their teams. Don't like Toronto much either, but I'll take them over the Bruins any day. Will be watching the Knicks hopefully end the Celtics season tonight in between periods of the hockey game.

I don't even have a problem with Toronto when it comes to hockey. Sure, their worst fans infest our building from time to time, but my "hate list" consists of Flyers, Bruins, and Sens, in some order or another.

Damn, these games gotta out of hand real quick. Toronto doesn't even look like their trying anymore, got completely outworked on their own power play.

Looks like it's gonna be 5-0 for the home teams so far

The folks at Consol Energy Center are pretty quiet compared to the crowds last night.

Once the Leafs scored that first goal the Bruins totally took over that game. And after the Leafs hit that pipe on the 2-1 they seemed to quit.

No need for Crosby to rush back into the lineup.

I see the Cup going back to Pittsburgh this year.

Pens game. Is there anyone on the Sabres arena production staff (Canisius interns?) who would have thought to put a camera outside the closed Sabres lockerroom door and show the shot on the jumbotron with the text "BEHIND THIS DOOR... THEY CAN HEAR YOU"? Then open the door?

An organization that can't envision things like this can't envision lots of things. Variation on a theme. Jay Moran - Doug Allen - Rob Ray - Ancient Rick - Ron Rolston - Darcy Regier. Good enough is good enough.

Where's our super slo mo, by the way, that Ted promised. Empty promises. Mediocrity. It's really disappointing.

Luongo with possibly the save of the playoffs in the first period. Funny he won't be playing once Schneider comes back.

The announcers for the Canucks-sharks games may have reached Brick Tamlin status with that last comment, saying that the Canucks definitely came out on top of the Hodgson trade merely because the Canucks are in the playoffs. Makes no difference their difference in production, kassians demotion, or the fact that the Canucks had to go out and get Roy to replace Hodgson.

Even better....Derek Roy did!

On the 2nd goal, Roy lost his man in the corner, then gave a half-hearted crosscheck in front of the net which knocked his man down, but still allowed him to get off a clean shot and then feed to a wide open man 7 feet away in the slot.

I didn't see the 3rd goal, but if Kassian got a penalty....he still started the game with Kesler and set the tone, then absolutely steamrolled a guy in the SJ zone. He really was good with controlling the puck as well and even had guys laying off him on the sideboards a few shifts. I can't remember him taking such command before, and if you saw the 12-15 seconds I am talking about, Foligno has no chance of matching this kid's overall talent. Should be interesting to see how the series plays out.

Reading the lines, Kassian had 11:30 of ice time.

As per the comparison with Foligno, I think Kassian has the higher ceiling, but also a greater chance of completely busting.
I think Foligno is going to be in this league a long time.

Kassian has been extremely disciplined about taking penalties this year. Last night sounds like an aberration out of aggression. A forgivable sin IMO.

Yeah....he was just rolling guys last night. The first game of the playoffs are always a little tricky. I remember Grosek would up his physical game and get away with 3 or 4 things before the refs finally gave him a timeout. Kotalik would play more physical too, but would get the stick high. I think it's just a case of seeing what you can get away with and keep bringing it.

Kassian won't bust in my opinion....unless he really is so goofy off the ice that he does something stupid. At worst he will be an indtimidating 3rd liner....but his puck possesion last night at such a pace was impressive. In 4 of his fights this year, his opponent went to the box bloodied. He's just a young thoroughbred that needs to know when to conserve his energy and when to go for the wire. I would like to see Vancouver win this series just to see how Kassian impacts a good 12-14 games of hockey built for him. It's funny to hear the national guys praising him for what he brings and how Vancouver obviously got the better of the trade hands down.

I'm hoping it is a win/win myself as Vancouver has always been my Western team (with a soft spot for St. Louis). Kassian was a lot to give up, but he's more of a last piece guy IMO than a first piece in terms of building a roster.

Always great to see a team that Dipdong Roy is playing for, lose.

Imagine that - soft play and poor D from Derek Roy. Color me astonished.

Dominate is the understated word.

They had their proverbial ###### handed to 'em.

I would be amazed if they could bounce back from such a drubbing, mainly because it demonstrates a major advantage in player ability/skill to the winning teams. But stranger things have happened.

Somewhat surprised since Grabovski got up and played. Surprised because I had noticed A LOT of elbows flying this past season, usually along the boards, especially in the corners.

That was pretty flagrant IMO. Ferrence saw it and it looked too clumsy to be an accident.
