Ummmm,

Sabres in ...

Oh, that's right.  Never mind.

I have no real interest in following along this post-season.

Carry on, though.

With the Sabres out, again, I'm hitching my first round wagon to the Ottawa Senators. To make the playoffs with the injuries they had is as an impressive season as there was this year. Karlsson coming back so quickly after such a gruesome injury shows the kid has a ton of heart to go with all that talent. It's a great story I would love to see continue throughout the playoffs.

Chicago crushes the Wild in four.  Not sure about the Kings vs. the Blues, but that's the series I look forward to the most in the west. The remainder doesn't interest me.

Tough call.  I haven't watch the Islanders at all (they probably weren't playing "their game" on Friday).  I don't like Pittsburgh, although it's difficult to say why, other than they underperform without Crosby.  Sort of a "which team shows up" thing.

I like Ottawa in maybe 6; that team is driven.  OV will fall apart under playoff pressure so I say the Rangers in 6.  Boston will most likely dance all over a Leafs team with something to prove, so they take it in 5.

PIT not likely to know til tomorrow afternoon if Crosby will be medically cleared to play Wed vs NYI. That's when he's to see the doctor.

At least we're not Tampa Bay.... they have the two leading points scorers in the NHL -  St. Louis and Stamkos....for a combined 117 points..... and STILL got eliminated from the post season.  How can you do that?

Not too hard. Get outshot on a nightly basis, and have a weak defense with spotty goaltending, and you too can be in the NHL lottery.

Haha,  It was more of a facetious question.   Usually only Buffalo teams can make everyone else marvel and scratch their heads at the new and unique ways they can find to lose big time.

I wonder if that's ever happened in NHL history - where a team has the number 1 and 2 points scorers, and hasn't made the playoffs?

I think there were a few years Marcel Dionne and Charlie Simmer each had 50 goals and over 100 points a piece and missed the playoffs in LA, in the Pre-Gretzky days.

Looks like a goal to me.

Original shot went off goalie ... rebound ... straight out to guy skating by ... goes in off his foot as he is skating by ... no kicking motion that I could see = good goal, IMO.
