It's finally over after tonight.

Where do we go from here? After the storm is clear?

I'll watch this one. Last chance to see our collection of loveable losers. I'll try to take away what few positives there were in another shittty season and move on. I'm actually kind of excited for the future  if only because finally there will be change to this group and hopefully to our management team and coaching staff. Next on the schedule is the year end presser. Can't wait to hear that one. Followed by the draft lotto and finally the draft. Should be an exciting offseason.

As always, Go Sabres !

I should add. Get Big John his goal will ya.

Got tickets with the Grandfather for his first game of the season. He's been a fan since they took Perreault so I'm hoping for a good win by us. Fan Appreciation night too so that'll be sweet

I swear to god after seeing the Bills draft that if the Sabres get a completely useless win tonight and screw up their draft order I will be forced to go out tonight and take more shots than Barry Bonds!

A win would not be completely useless. I'm bringing my 5-year-old son to the game. It's his third game of the year, and he has yet to see a win. He loves Steve Ott, and wants to see him score a goal. While you're hoping the Sabres lose tonight, I want you to picture a 5-year-old boy who just wants to see his favorite team win. /guilttrip

You know, that statement is both sad and mostly true.  If Messrs. Black and Pegula have anyone trolling this forum, please see the above message and realize how little faith fans have in this team anymore. We've gone the safe route for too long and have next to nothing to show for it.  Be bold; take a chance.  Go out and hire an impact coach and GM and let them bring in impact players. If we're going to miss the playoffs again next year, I'd rather do it with a team that plays balls out every shift.

Injury report: The Islanders report no injuries, though coach Jack Capuano will have to decide if he wants to sit any of his regulars in the second half of a back-to-back. … Buffalo is without defensemen Patrick Kaleta (hand), Tyler Myers (leg) and Alexander Sulzer (knee surgery), as well as forward Ville Leino (upper body).

Islanders have something to play for in their quest to get up to the 6th seed in the East.  Also a bad matchup for the Sabres with the speedy Isles forwards as we've seen for the last couple of years.

This would be moving if I wasn't an analytical, data driven, emotionless robot. Don't hate me for it, blame the Sabres for making me this way! :P

Steve Ott can score and your kid can be happy all while the Sabres lose. Win-win! Also, a loss ensures I win our little wager ;)

They can't get any higher, but a win has the potential to send them lower. 2 spots could be the difference between a potential 1C and a top-4 D. Still matters!..... or something.

They can't move down (up?). They will draft 8th or 9th depending on this game and Philly @ Ottawa.

I thought they could fall to 10th, although I may have neglected the ROW totals when I came to that conclusion. If you're right, it means I won our bet by the skin of my teeth and I can continue to use stats! Hooray!

I'm ready for it to be over. The season didn't feel right from day one. That half-season Cup, who wanted any part of it? :) 2012-13 could be remembered as a woeful, lost season, but if in the end it resulted in Ruff and Regier gone, a bunch of dead brush cleared out, the hiring of a championship-caliber GM and Terry's realization that he needs to needs to fundamentally change what he's doing, it could be remembered as a turning point in franchise history. I don't think I'm asking for too much.

Would be funny if they came out in blue and gold goatheads tonight. I've always cried about leaving the uniform alone, but I think I'd sign up for a return to the goathead with the original logo used as a third. There was magic in that old goat.

D*mn, my kid's lax practice better end early then.  I couldn't get there for the warmups / opening faceoff when they went back that 1 game.

Shinkaruk plays in the WHL.  Putting up points like that there is a lot different from doing it in the Q (i.e., a ton more impressive).

86 points in 64 games this year.  91 points in 66 games last year.
