Iginla looks to continue his recent scoring surge and lead the Penguins to an eighth consecutive win Tuesday night against the last-place Sabres, who ended Pittsburgh's previous lengthy winning streak earlier this month.

Should be interesting to see who starts in goal. I think they should start Enroth again.

If they play Miller, he will probably get injured and ruin his summer trade value.

Heck I even remember a time when the Sabres didn't spend 90% of the first two periods in their own zone.

I can't wait for the end of the year presser. It'll be so much better than these final few games where this organization dresses what they'd like us to believe is an N.H.L. roster. I wonder what management will have to say ?

Again I can't be bothered to watch. Really in my 40 years of following this team this is the first time I ever remember not being excited about a regular season game. Didn't watch the jets, won't watch this shite. Will I miss anything I haven't already seen ?

As always, Go Sabres !

You know, for once I look forward to this one too. No injuries to blame this time, the coach was fired, and the deadline was a firesale. There are *no* excuses for Regier this time.

Hopefully he won't even *be* at the end of the year presser, you ask me.

While that wouldn't surprise me one bit, I find it interesting they don't have proverbial "key player injured" crutch to lean on, or any of the same old "core will continue getting better" crap this year.

How many one goal games this year...? how good was the d? (how many defensive zone give aways) How many scoring chances did miller face vs other goaltenders? How many total shots vs other goaltenders or odd  man rushes or Power Plays vs those  faced by  other goaltenders? (you can tell me again Drunken idiot, that these type of goaltender stats  do not matter if you wish... lol)

How many skilled offensive forwards added this year?.shut down defenders? centers?.  how many goals left  through trades in the last three years? were those goals replaced? How many goals does Cody put up next year without Vanek? How about Ennis?

Much to talk about in the off season. lol...

Looking forward to this game.. they are all interesting..

fyi...iggy is playing with two of the best centers in the buisness...you could put razor in there and he would go on a scoring binge..

I don't think they could possibly point to Myers. This presser (if there is one) will be a continuation of Black's recent line of commentary: a mea culpa, oops WE screwed up in 2011, throwing themselves on the mercy of the fans, asking for more patience, claiming that the draft choices will turn into impact players at an incredible rate and so on. You're right. We'll also hear about the new core.

What we need to hear is Terry admitting he doesn't know what the ###### he's doing and he's handing everything over to (insert name of new GM) and heading back to Del Boca Vista.

I'm hoping for an exciting, hard-hitting 4-3 loss in regulation for the Sabres.

I heard that, too, but I don't see why it is correct.

The Sabres have 44 points and play two teams above them (Pittsburgh, NY Islanders), so they can finish with 44 and not help anyone below them.

Of the 8 teams below them, without even considering opponents, they cannot "catch" Colorado or Florida.  The only games between teams below them are Florida-Tampa (give that one to Tampa, since they can't catch Florida anyway) and Calgary-Nashville (give Nashville at least one point, preferably before the SO.)

If the Flyers get 1 point against Boston, NYI, Ottawa, they pass us.
If the Flames get 2 points against St. Louis, Chicago and Nashville, they pass us.
If the Oilers get 3 points against Chicago, Minnesota, and Vancouver, they pass us.
If the Hurricanes get 5 points against NYI, NYR and Pittsburgh, they pass us.
If the Predators get 6 points (or 5 and 1 ROW and/or several + in goal diff) against Calgary, Detroit and Columbus, they pass us.
If the Lightning get 6 points against Toronto, Boston and Florida, they pass us.

All of these can happen together, which would leave the Sabres drafting third overall, barring a lottery win in 4-14.  Am I missing something?

Broke this down the other day: http://forums.sabres...520#entry477653

The guys on WGR said the Sabres could draft 5th at best.  Didn't make sense to me, so I tabulated it for myself.

Gotta lose out in regulation to have any chance at 3rd.

But, yes, everything hinges on losing out.

I'll still watch what I can because I like hockey and I don't waste time worrying about what the Sabres are going to do tomorrow.

I don't hate on the owner, the GM, the team president, or the players.  Far too many things in this world are more important than what the Sabres do tonight, tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year.  It's entertainment, even if the other team is the one that is entertaining.

I can't begin to comprehend why anyone sticks around here to torture themselves if they are that upset with the team.

I am curious to see who starts in goal Friday night, as I am expecting it to be Miller's last game in Buffalo. As for tonight's game, I am thinking it's gonna be pretty fugly.
Wouldn't mind seeing a Scott/Englund throwdown though.
