Pretty confident our season ends tonight. (regulation loss and we're donzo)

It's been good. Onto the draft lottery...

Too bad the Rangers won last night. Took some of the energy out of this game. The FNC better be loud tonight or those STH should turn in their tickets next year. If you can't get loud for this one, something is really wrong.

The last hoorah? Time to get the atmosphere in that building back to where it needs to be. Is that too much to ask for one night of this tough season? I will do everything I can to contribute and truly hope that buffalo does their part to get this team fired up. Is it even possible any more? They pulled off a monumental task getting a win in Boston and the crowd better show some appreciation for it.

If not, I am not sure what to say because I really do fear that the crowd noise issue goes deeper than the product on the ice. Even playoff games over the past few years have been silent. Come on Buffalo, Let's turn this thing around along WITH the team....

Due to the tiebreaker, the Rags need 2 regulation wins in the last 5 to eliminate us ... considering they play NJ twice and NJ has only one win in the last 11, our fate is sealed.
We are not the LA Kings from 2011-12 - we are the Buffalo Sabres, desperately in need of a new GM and rebuild. IMO, miraculously getting into the playoffs would just extend
Regier's tenure. I'd like to believe that Terry/Ted have already decided to can Regier after the season.

I can't fathom a scenario where we win out and the Rangers drop 2 games to NJD.  If we lose tonight though any faint playoff hope is dead.

I'll be there, and the math says we still have a chance. It's a game 4 and we're down 3-0. Lose and we're out, win and their still a lot of work to do.

Difference is that the Sabres can win 4 straight and still lose.  After tonight, the analogy breaks down.

I suppose a racing analogy would work better.  Something like 4 laps to go, but even if we pull the fastest times for the final 4 laps, we may still lose? (I don't watch racing, so that could probably be worded better.)

I just hope they show up and play hard.

The way the kids have been playing they should come out a blazing.  Hopefully they will play a strong do, or die, full 60 minutes and not have to have Miller stand on his head until the rest of them get it together.

A huge win in regulation tonight and they live to fight another day.

Gotta love a slow death by 1000 painful ant stings. 240 minutes left.

Wondering if the Rangers will seek retribution on Kaleta for the hit on Richards:

@BuffaloSabres
Ryan Miller will start in goal tonight vs NYR as Sabres look for 4th straight win; no lineup changes. --^KS

obviously the Sabres need to win in regulation.
Obviously it's nice they are trying, as always when it's too late, but Nyr has the easiest sled in the NHL left and Peg is on fire and completely own is too.

I'm driving to vancity today for a funeral but hopefully y'all enjoy the game.

A win would do more for Winnipeg than Buffalo, frankly.  Part of me wants the Sabres to lose and just end the season, though I never root that way once the game's on.

It reminds me of a certain game against the NYR in the spring of '07.

The Sabres are kind of in that situation. Although not exactly, because that was not a do, or die, game.

So, does that mean they'll act like they're going after him, much like Richards acted like he was hurt?

Stupid play by Kaleta, and I'm sure Richards was off-balance, but he sold that "hit" like a world class italian soccer player.

Not to mention the fact that that stupid play in particular could be the one moment we can point to that keeps us out of the playoffs this year.  Most likely would have won that game otherwise and things would be much different tonight.

Surprised anyone is still holding on to the embellishment nonsense. But Okay.

With the postponement of the Pens vs the Bruins tonight, The Sabres game this evening is airing on NHL Network.

It actually stood out as rather memorable to me.  If it weren't for the crazy multigame suspension that sprung from it I would have forgotten it in a heartbeat though.

If down in the 3rd period, how early will Rolston pull the Goalie ? I don't think he'll pull him with anything more than 2 minutes left. He might have to take a chance, if they lose this game, it's over (if it isn't already).

Nonsense? The guy couldn't even decide on which bodypart to pretend was injured.

Like I said, stupid play, even dangerous, if there was any intent. Looked more accidental to me, but I'm not trying to argue whether it was one or the other - But Richards rolling around on the ice afterwards was 110% embellishment.

I've seen way too many of those plays over the years in which a player gets really hurt, and a surefire way to tell somebody got hurt by being sent face-first into the boards, is that they don't move at all, in the creepiest possible way.

And mind you, I'm not one of the "Oh, too bad he got turned into a vegetable, but he should've kept his head up" crowd. All I'm saying is, Richards was lucky he wasn't hurt on the play, which is a good thing. Still doesn't take away from the fact that he sold it to the officials once he realised he was ok.
