These teams have split four meetings this season, with Buffalo winning 7-4 in the only matchup in Boston on Jan. 31 as Thomas Vanek had three goals and two assists.

Boston wins this tonight.  I see absolutely no way the Sabres can play in Boston after what happened Monday and come away with a win.  I am perfectly okay with losing this one.  I have a feeling we get lit up a bit, somewhere in the 4-1 or 5-2 range

Figured I'd stop in after a long hiatus.  I honestly think this game could go either way.  It seems a lot of the Sabres had/have ties to the area and are fired up about playing for the fans as well.  Either way I think it will be a good game.  Hopefully the announcing isn't as bad as the last NBCSN game

I just want them at some point to be saying something about how Kaleta has no place in the NHL. If we get that, we'll know he's doing his job.

Well, will we get the Sabres effort that reflects the last time we had a chance to pull within 2 or will they show some fight. I guess you can't have a rebuild and a playoff run at the same time - or can you?

We're walking into a buzz saw tonight. I expect Boston to pretty handily dispose of the Sabres 4-1 or something like that.

Y'know, they've both looked pretty solid.  No flash or brutality in their games, but both can skate pretty well and both have made pretty good decisions.

Is the nose playing ? Last I heard he was concussed. Should be a good game given the Sabres compete level lately. The American anthem and the crowd response in this one should be epic. My heart goes out to those affected by the bombing. Hoping for health and peace to all.

As always, GO SABRES !

Unless Rene Rancourt butchers it. I know Bruins fans love him, but I think he is terrible.

As someone who lived in a city that was twice attacked by terrorists (foreign and domestic), I can tell you that that is absolutely the right word.  Surreal.  Walking by soldiers with machine guns.  Walking by tanks.  Fighters doing fly-overs.  Surreal.  And in some countries, it's a way of life.

Bergeron is back already? Why? He's had four concussions and they let him back before the playoffs. To gain what? I don't care if he was medically cleared.

This should be interesting tonight. The crowd will probably be into it and looking to take some frustration out. I don't know if that will translate to the ice though. It's kind of hard to want to go nuts on the guy across from you given the circumstances. My guess is you may see Boston come out hitting for the first few minutes to feed off the crowd, then it turns into an absolute szoozefest.

That's exactly how it was in DC after 911.  I worked 3 blocks from the White House at the time and can't tell you how many times I was stopped, asked for ID, sniffed by bomb-sniffing dogs, etc.  Military and police all over the city for about a month after 911.  Sounds very similar to what is happening in Boston with everyone on edge.

The Sabres game against the... (Ducks?  Sharks?) after the Clarence crash wasn't, but it was one hell of a win.

Yup.  I mean no disrespect to anyone connected to the bombing, but the announcers aren't going to stop talking about it the entire game.
