Per TSN.

Regehr asked to waive his no trade clause to the LA Kings, which he will accept. No details on return.

----UPDATE---

Two second round picks in return. Solid return by Darcy IMO.

we now have 3 2nd round picks next season. and 2 in 2014. I expect Darcy to use those picks to bring in a solid player or players in another trade.

I hope we didn't turn down a chance to get a late first rounder from someone else.  Decent return, I guess.

Rumors had LA being the most interested buyer, and they don't have a 1st round pick this year.  Any other contender with their level of interest may have given us one, although it could be said that Murray set the market a little bit.

What's the source of the 2nd round picks?  Are they both for next year?  If so, where did LA get the 2nd pick from?  The other possibility is that one is for 2014.

Good move. We get picks and Regehr gets to go play for a contender. I also feel bad that we talked him into coming here only to have him uprooted again. Two defensemen gone. Any chance we see some of these picks packaged for a younger shut down d man, preferably a right handed shot?

Good for him.  I hope he does well. I'm glad to see Darcy moving the inevitable trades out early, so he can concentrate on trading the non UFA's.
Hecht should be the next domino.

Better question, why are we talking about a 4% chance?

Dumped Brennan.  Dumped Leo.  Dumped Regehr.  With Sulzer and McNabb hurt, we've gone from being loaded with defensemen to thin again.  We'll have to call up someone (Pardy?).

Two 2nds is market rate for a rental defenseman.  Douglas Murray got the same (the condition of winning 2 series has a good chance of being met IMO), and he's significantly more decrepit than Regehr.

Because the Kings won the Cup from an 8 seed?

He's still a good NHL defenseman that brings toughness and grit.  Exactly what teams are looking for right now.

THE STATS GUY@TH2NSTATSGUY  13m
KIngs: acquire Regehr from Sabres. LA is last in NHL in blocked shots, Regehr now ranks 1st on the team with 50. #needaddressed

Was this a good move by DR?  Not particularly IMHO, although also not terrible.  It's kinda embarrassing to trade Regehr less than 2 years after making him a ballyhooed acquisition, and a low 2nd this year and another one in 15 months isn't a great return for a good vet defenseman (again, not bad, but not great either).

A day late and a dollar short.
