Sekera has a way of shutting down OV. If he plays, we win. It's that simple. Start of a 4 point weekend.

This is going to be the first game all year that I miss. Game will be over before I get home, not sure if I should watch it after the fact. Somebody PM me and let me know if it's worth watching without giving up the score. :P

Look at the optimism in the GDT. I'm sorry, but I have none. I hope it's a - 4 point weekend or more.

Time for sweeping changes, vanek out, rolston fed up, Leino prolly still crying inside. This team is so jumbled they're like a Sunday morning word finder.

I want 4 players gone by Wednesday, and I don't care which 4

I do.  Vanek is one of the few NHL caliber forwards on the team.  I can't imagine they'd get a player of equal value in return.  I'm by no means his biggest fan but they can not afford to lose him.  The Sabres also need to keep Foligno, Ott, and Weber.

I don't want anyone under 25 moved.  Plenty of talent on the way, I like the future with Grigs, Zemgus, Armia, McNabb, Pysyk, Kea, Catenacci, Tropp, McCabe and hopefully a top 3 pick in this years draft.  It may take a couple of seasons but if that talent develops and the roster is supplemented with appropriate players the Sabres could be looking good.

If I'm Darcy, I move Leopold, Regehr, Stafford, Pominville and Hecht.  I'm on the fence with Miller.  I'd only move him if he's said he's not interested in coming back and the return is worthwhile. Here's hoping Wednesday is eventful.

I can't imagine any player on this roster qualifying as "can't afford to lose."

Washington, Boston and Pittsburgh, a nice stretch of opponents to kill any hope before the April 3rd trade deadline.

Good things come in 3's. The Sabres are on a 4-8 (including a 3 game win streak) stretch since their 3 game win streak at the end of February.

Good post. Vanek is a must keep. Everyone else is tradeable. Yes, that includes Tyler Myers. He still has high trade value. Oh, and I too am undecided on Miller. I can easily see Leopold, Regehr and Pominville being traded. I don't think any team will take Stafford because of his poor play and salary cap hit. And I don't think any team has interest in Hecht. He'll finish the season in Buffalo and that will be that.   The Sabres will need vets to help the young talent develop their game in the NHL. That is one of the many reasons I want Ott to remain a Sabre. The guy plays hard night in and night out. Regardless of what happens w/ Pommers, Ott needs to be given the "C" for the 13/14 season.

Since Rolston's taking over, the Sabres are a predictably bad 7-10.  7-6-4 if you want to get technical.  Weird thing that sticks out - 13 out of those 17 have been decided by 1 goal.

Since fans can't get a team here that reflects their personality, we decided to reflect the teams personality. ;)

If they win in Regulation, something I doubt they can do, so if they are the normal Sabres we know, then they are 3 points out.

I agree he is the only forward on this team that is 1st line worthy, he hasn't been able to stay healthy (and yes I know it's mostly because he play with marshmallows, so he takes a lot lot of abuse) but I would def move him at a decent price. He's overpaid in my eyes for what he brings, he has soft hands and a decent shot, but he's not quick and for all the roughing he takes, he doesn't ever dish anything out ever.

I agree with the Ott, Foligno any young guys. I may have gotten carried away with any 4. But I'd like to see pommerz, miller, and Myers traded and see ya drew as well.

If our prospects are going to be as good as we think then that's the only hope to cling to because this team is not just 1-2 players away and in need of a personality makeover bad.

This is where I currently fall as well. I'd love for them to suddenly pull their heads out of their collective a$$es and make it interesting, but right now I'm wondering why I bought tix for the last home game this season. Meaningful changes at the trade deadline would go a long ways towards restoring interest, though.

This organization should be even further embarrassed to have forced Rob Ray to tweet this.  They have let everyone down this season and last season, after what was supposed to be, the beginning of a new era. A winning era.

So went out to this fun BYOB mexican place, in the parking lot sits a car with NY plates and huge Sabres logo on the back. Didn't find the owners but it was a sign I was going to have a good night.  As for the Sabres, I love my team, I want them to win a Stanely Cup.

Rational Loss Theory - If they lose now they will be better later.  I believe that this year and I hate myself for it but Drafting higher and resetting for next season is something this team needs.
