Let's see if I can stay awake through the entire game, unlike Tampa Bay.

Well this is another game you would expect the Sabres to win. I have a sneaky suspicion that we go up against a hot GT in Markstrom and somehow lose. The only good news is that with every loss this week, it makes it easier for DR to sell sell sell.  I will be hoping that Ennis, Hodgson and our other young guys continue to play well and improve but a win in Florida is not something I would feel comfortable predicting.

I think I'll look for either a Pittsburgh game to witness Iggys first game ( do they play tonight and does he ? ) or a Boston game so I can hear those gawd-aweful homer announcers whine about missing out on Iggy. The alternative of course is to watch the Sabres which is akin to watching paint dry if they lay another egg like the Tampa game. I'm more interested in the number of scouts at the game and who they represent.

Alas...as always, GO SABRES. rah rah rah

Yes, we have more talent but are one of the laziest teams.  We should beat Florida on paper but I don't think we will on ice.

On a more important note it comes as no suprise that Markstrom is the first off the ice and will be in Goal for Florida tonight.
Florida Panthers@FlaPanthers  1m
. @j_markstrom first goalie off the ice which usually indicates starter for game. #FlaPanthers

History is on my side. He always plays balls out for about three games after getting benched. Curious to see if he can raise his trade value in these next few games as "that guy you need to bench to motivate".

Really takes the fun out of watching a game when it's in Florida, or anywhere where there is no crowd for that matter. It's just the sound of ice and pucks hitting tape and the occasional goal met by the enthusiasm of New Years at a retirement home. Did anyone see the Canadiens/Bruins last night?! That arena was unbelievable, place was nuts. I haven't heard the FN'C get like that in quite a long time, let alone for a regular season game.

Really grinds my gears that Florida and Tampa are gonna be in our division next year. :censored:

The way the Panthers have been playing lately, the Sabres shouldn't stand a chance. Panthers fans don't know what they have in store for them in the very near future. The BB&T center will be packed soon like it was last year.

Because Soupy and Kuba have been playing well. Outside of his first game Brennan has been going through the motions....... and that's being generous. And Tallon isn't showcasing anybody. He's got what he wants, it's just a matter of time. The ones he was probably going to showcase are injured.

I wanted to test your theory, but the only confirmed benching I could find (quickly) was in late December 2009. Drew hadn't scored in 15 games, so Lindy sat him. Stafford scored twice in his return one game later, part of a stretch of five goals in eight games. Then he scored two goals the rest of the regular season!

I know that, I don't think Florida has ever had a really loud crowd compared to relative scenarios in other cities. Even when the Panthers were in the playoffs that crowd wasn't nearly as hyped as Boston's last night

yes, in the second period that crowd was going wild

A big win for the Panthers tonight then.  They are way over due and the perfect team is just now walking into their barn to start a winning streak against.

Drouin should be fitted for his Sabre jersey now.  Any Sabre wearing #27?

What do you mean TJ is "going through the motions"?  Have you watched all the games he played?  Is he not trying?  I can think of 100 ways to describe how terrible TJ is on defense but a lack of effort was never one.

I'm confident there's at least one more benching in there that encouraged similar results. I wouldn't have a trend in my head for no reason (I think).

He's been slacking. Yes I have watched the games. Hence the reason he got scratched last game. The Panthers are loaded with a ton of young players, Dineen is letting them learn from their mistakes and not punishing thme with less ice time or scratches. But he doesn't accept lack of effort very well.

I don't get the "going through the motions" either.  This is your one shot to make millions over the next 5 - 10 years, and you don't care/step up?  I guess it's possible, but I doubt you make it this far if that's your make-up.

His TOI was going down, then he got a chance for some more minutes against the Islanders on Sunday. He ended up being the only Panther on the ice for all 3 NY goals. However the last two were empty netters so take that stat for what it's worth.
