SABRES (10-15-4) at CANADIENS (19-5-4)
TV: RDS, TSN, MSG-Buffalo

This one could get ugly.  The Habs are 7-1-2 in their last 10.

My brother and I were gonna go to the Saturday game, but meh.  The Sabres suck too bad to invest in expensive tickets.

Damn I miss Montreal

It's hard enough for the Sabres to beat an NHL team these days.  Now they have to cross the border to play against an entire country?

I have to give credit to anyone hoping for a win. I want nothing but losses from here on out and have been reduced to checking in a couple times a period.

Sadly true - I saw a bit of the Tampa-Philly game last night.  The Tampa crowd was louder and more into the game than any FNC crowd so far this season (which is embarassing beyond belief).  I noticed that during the Ottawa game Saturday that many times during breaks in play there was no music being played (either recorded or live organ music).  The silence was deafening.  I realize there's not much to cheer for with this team, but the organization needs to do a better job of jazzing up the in-game experience.  It seems they were doing this for a while after TPegs took over the team, but now....  Maybe they are really letting everything bottom out.

I understand where people are coming from when they say that they can't bring themselves to root for the Sabres to lose.  I find it difficult to do myself, so I don't.  Instead I look at it as believing in a team to reach their true potential.  Kind of like how we all felt about the 2005-2006 Sabres but in reverse.  I truly believe that this team blows donkey balls and  that they should be rewarded in kind for their level of suckage. Of course what will probably happen is that instead of Jay McKee's MRSA, we'll get John Scott scoring a hat trick in the last game to cost us last place.  That's just how we roll.

The Brennan trade and the Grigorenko move, I believe, we specifically done to create maximum roster flexibility. I want to see every Amerk with NHL potential up in Blue and Gold for at least a week or two. We have to figure out what we have.

I agree , but then all he has to say is " we did not think we would clear, so we got something for him" , not this BS about the trade was in TJ's best interest.

Also sick of this "has to earn " crap....maybe someone can tell me how Hecht ad Stafford have earned their minutes. Gotta be they hope they can make a few pays and increase their trade value.

Exactly. Thats how winning teams operate.

As for this game Monreal is so far ahead of us in desire alone they'll make us look silly. Its going to look like we're skating in mud against this team. Its hard to have any positive feelings on this one.

As always, GO SABRES !

fair deuce. then again, grigorenko's junior team gives the fans something to cheer for. i was at that rangers game last week -- the building was loud enough and had good atmosphere. the fans just need something to cheer for, gubdammit.

to dance's issue with the in-game experience: i think there were more interesting and innovative things being done in that regard when quinn was in charge (remember those black and white vignettes of prominent players on their way into the arena? those were cool). the in-game experience at the FNC is an area where TB really needs to improve his game -- likely by hiring someone who can improve that aspect of operations. it feels like exactly nothing's been done in that area since TP bought the team; if anything, they've taken steps back.

Agreed.

The only problem is the guy responsible for the mixing(DR) appears unable to tell a pig from a poke.

As always Hope for the best but prepared for more of their worst.

Will do scorebaord watching mostly with some peaks to see how good or bad they look at times. If they keep it close they may keep my interest but that is oftem offset but really fugly play taht has me switching to other games to see some inspired hockey.

I agree about trying everything, but I think Hodgson and Vanek gel pretty well.  It will be interesting to see if Ott can get Pommer going and clear some ice for Hodgson to set him up.  It will also give us more insight on Ennis's ability to play center.  He's had bum wings for most of the season, now he has the first and third most skilled wingers on the team.  This line has loads of skill, but its success hinges on Ennis's ability to distribute the puck to scoring areas.  Hopefully Leino's defense can cover for Ennis a bit.
