I'm pleased to say that I'll be having a huge steak dinner on Sunday evening and then attending the game.  Wearing my Miller jersey.

This will be the Rangers 12th home game in what will be their 20th game of the season. That is a scheduling quirk the Sabres can take advantage of in the second half of the season. Making the playoffs seems like a daunting task at this point. If you break down all the teams that currently stand between the Sabres and a playoff spot individually, the task seems a bit less daunting. Of course it all begins and ends with the Sabres themselves. Consistent effort and taking advantage of situations as they present themselves, as they have the past three games, is a must.

Tampa and Florida game did not do much for me.

Yesterday I thought they may have turned a corner.

Today, a win would be a MAJOR statement.

Will miss game, flew into Boston and taking clients to Habs game tonight. Should be a great game fro center ice club

I think Enroth will be in and if RR's thing is defense, maybe Enroth will have a more structured play in front of him. A good test all around.

In yesterday's post game presser, Rolston sounded like he was going to ride the winning streak wave with Miller.  Hope Vanek is back tonight.

I'll have to check out the presser.  If you're right, that strikes me as a mistake.  If you can't trust your backup, the answer is to get a new backup - not to nail the starter's pads to the ice.

Look at the best teams in the league and most of them are operating with a 60/40 or 70/30 platoon.  There's something to be said for it, methinks.

gotta have dinner at the in-laws tonight. bringing the ipad and watching it on GC.  like they said last night, this team has some swagger to it now--a bit of arrogance. 3 game win streak is nice, and maybe it is the start of a long run, but if they want to have any hope of sustaining that long run, enroth has to get some of that swagger. start him tonight, get the defense in front of him playing as well as they have and clean up the little mistakes, enroth could pull off the win and get some of that "winning fever."

otherwise, we'll ride miller, he'll be exhausted by the time the end of the season rolls around, and once again, IF we make the playoffs, a first-round exit is almost guaranteed.

here's hoping for a statement win over the rangers. go sabres!

Why do many want Enroth? I certainly don't want him to play. Rather they wear out Miller. It's a short season.

Its the chicken and egg thing. I liken it to the Grigo situation. Coach says he has to earn his ice time. Its pretty hard to earn your ice sitting on the bench or playing with scrubs. Same goes with enroth. He needs to play and earn the trust of his coach and team mates. That being said based on his record I have close to zero faith in him getting us the w. If he plays hopefully the guys tighten up in front of him. He needs a victory.

Rolston had Leggio start like 24 games in a row last year and had used him this year at nearly the same percentage as Lindy used Miller.

In the shortest possible summary.  The defense is playing better defense, with much less mental mistakes.  The ahl guys have been fairly solid.  Turnovers & the inability to clear the zone is still costing us.  Gerbe seems to be up to speed

With back to back games and three games in four days, the Sabres elected not to have a morning skate. They gathered for a meeting at their hotel.

That means there will be no news on the status of Thomas Vanek until early this evening. Brian Flynn remains with the team which means Jordan Leopold won’t play tonight.

As far as goaltending goes, Jhonas Enroth will get a game soon and of course it could be tonight, but listening to Rolston’s postgame press conference, he made reference to keeping the winning streak alive so does that mean Miller again?

Don't count on it.  Seems that coach RR has the same tendencies as coach LR in regards to playing the starter in net as much as possible.

I think you may need to take a second look at that.  According to nhl.com Quick played in 69 games last regular season or 84% of the games.  They won the cup doing that.  Just looking quickly at top teams in the leauge last year that had legit #1 goaltenders (not a full blown platoon).

Boston - Thomas played in 59 or 72%
Pitt - Fluery played in 67 or 82%
Rags - Lundqvist 62 or 76%
Vancouver - Luongo 55 or 67%
Pheonix - Smith 67 or 82%
Nashville - Rinne 73 or 89%

I'm not too worried about over working Miller (espically in a shortened season).

For some reason I woke up this morning with a good feeling about tonights game.  It hasn't faded yet.

I predict a big win tonight ... 4 - 1, with that 1 goal against in *garbage time* to spoil the SO for Miller.

I'm all for Enroth getting starts, but Rolston is trying to turn things around and build the team some confidence with wins, why stop the momentum now. Not saying that Enroth can't pull out a win, I think he can, but Miller's been hot and unless he's tired, play him.
