That is unfortunate. No one told him, "hey, you're good enough to maybe play in the National, but how about learning the great books, or the guitar, or whatever, just in case."
He's a good kid. He's lucky that he grew up within spitting distance of an NHL team, otherwise he'd be in the A. He probably should transition to something else.
Betcha he doesn't.
