Mike Ribeiro leads Washington with four points (1+3) in four games, while Alexander Ovechkin has collected just one point – an assist – this season.
Will Vanek play?
Let's Go Buffalo!

Hey?.....how about Weber getting a shot since we are 11% into the season? I know the D has been Oh-so-physical.......
Foligno is 3 games away from never being a Sabre after this year......
On a positive note.....Cody Hodgson is cute as a button......

Sabres seem like the perfect cure. I don't see how we win. 4-1 Washington.

We will show no heart and no grit and take some damn stupid penalties.
Of course i hope that i will be totally wrong but i do not see how we win this game.

PowerPlay
Defensive Breakouts
Secondary Scoring
Passing-play
Faceoffs
And our D-Men need to stop making those along the board passes behind the net in their own zone. 9 out of 10 times they lose the puck after the third pass that went from the one dmen to the other.

Funny how quickly that mindset can creep back in after two Shittty losses that expose this teams weaknesses.
Anyhoo...Remain positive.
Above all else. GO SABRES !

I thought the 2nd Carolina game was a pretty good team effort, with the (huge) exception of a lack of offensive finish from lines 2 and 3. Guys like Stafford (who has shown a nice 2-way game this year IMHO), Ennis, Gerbe, Foligno and Griggy need to bury a few if they want to get ice time and get paid like real NHL scoring forwards. Same goes for defensemen like Ehrhoff, Myers, Reggie and Leopold.
In the recent past this team would start squeezing the sticks and the scoring drought and losing would continue.
But hope springs eternal.
Go Sabres.

Unfortunately, I see more of the same today. 5-2, Caps.
Hope I'm wrong.
GO SABRES!!!

Problem is that hasn't really worked for them last season.
Watched some western games last night(EDM-CAL, LA-PHX, Ducks-Preds) and they appear to be playing at a different speed and level. Please BFLO can I at least see some consistent effort/persuit on the puck.
Well at least we got hockey back, not sure what lines or team we are going to see today but I hope it's a winning one.
Let's go Buff-a-lo!

I also have to agree with you after watching some of the other games last night these guys are moving a lot harder to the puck!

Would love to see him get more minutes between 82 and 21 and at a minimum 3rd line minutes with some PP time. If neither of those are in the plans, put him in the Press Box. No more wasted games like Friday against the Canes.

Hopefully smarter than Oates is using Ovechkin. Crabb and Beagle, seriously? Maybe when he was in his prime he could make it work, but at this point separating him from Backstrom is nuts.

Grigorenko gets his first goal and his first assist and his first fight (!) where he knocks his opponent the F out.
Then Thomas Vanek scores five goals and takes an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after the fifth goal for breaking out a can of spray paint and writing "Rob and Tom BFFs 4ever" on the glass. I will miss this whole thing.
Other things:
- Stafford fights again.
- Miller scores a goal somehow
- The jumbotron falls to the ice again but this time Tyler Myers actually catches it and helps move it back to its original position, revealing that his conditioning isn't a problem and that he does in fact have super strength. He becomes the defenseman we always wanted.
I'm pretty sure this is what I'll be missing.

Won't know for sure till warm-ups, but don't be surprised if Sabres dress T.J. Brennan as a seventh defenseman and sit John Scott vs. Caps.
Vogl reading my mind?
