Can one of you super smarties give us an injury update for the team? It has been so long, I am not sure who's hurting and how long they are out. Thanks!

Gerbe, McCormick and Leino are all on the mend right now as far as I know.

Gerbe and McCormick started the season on IR.  So, they probably will be out some time.

Leino, as far as I know, is day-to-day.

Yep -- Gerbe is still recovering fully from offseason back surgery (although he's been practicing with the team, I believe), and Cody is still rehabbing a busted finger from last year?  Leino is a lower body or leg injury from practice the other day.

Gerbe's spine is healed. It's a groin now. Caused by a combination of Pegula's secret research at Penn St and the black helicopters.

The illuminati may be involved as well.

Correct. And I wouldn't be surprised if Leino is a hip flexor. The two most common injuries for pushing too hard at the last minute. Gerbe for trying to rehab quick and Leino for... Waiting too long to get in shape. Oh IMO.

If we clear Gerbe or McCormick to play, that means we need to make a roster move right?  Time for Regier to earn his money and clear up the logjam at the blueline.

Only if he's had it for a while.  First we heard was Saturday, so given a week to 10 days for the normal cold/flu thing...

As long as it doesn't go all pneumonia on him.

Not to open the can of worms again, but the flu for somebody his age (70?) can be pretty serious.

What kind of rules and restrictions are in place for using IR as a place to stash players?

based on nhl.com description. the player must have been injured for a min of 7 days to be placed on IR and once they are placed they must remain on IR for a min of 7 days
