Nice to be back over here now that we're about to have a season.  Who's with me for the game at Raleigh next Thursday (24th)?

It probably wasn't so much of a factor this year with the short schedule and it's limitations, but  It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Canes have requested in recent years that Buffalo games not be on weekends  The pillaging hordes get larger and come from farther away when it's a weekend game.

One of the few nice things I have to say about the Canes/PNC arena is that bbq stand.  It's the best stadium / arena food I've ever had by a mile.

You can find tremendous pit beef along roadsides on Baltimore.  When I lived there in the 80s there was a place on Pulaski Hwy that was out of this world.

Yeah, I lived down in St Mary's County for awhile (western shore, 70 miles South of Annapolis). There were a few places down there that were all amazing. FWIW, Steve's Pig and Ox Roast on Ridge Rd in Lackawanna isn't bad for Pit Beef.

I live here now and that place is great. It's actually in front of a strip club so there's that too..

But never the twain shall meet!  As someone now working on a food safety testing project I have to say that one of the most disgusting things I ever witnessed was the Thanksgiving buffet they had at a strip club back in the day.  Mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, cranberry salad, the whole nine yards.

It's a group sale promotion, 10 ticket minimum, but that's what I'm thinking.

choosing the Rangers or Leafs for the third game works too, as they always have a pretty large presence at Canes games.

I'll be there as always. I think I'm sitting behind the Sabres bench this time. Should be fun times as long as they don't cut me off at the beer lines. I usually tip though so unless Security makes them 86 my patronage, I'll be ok.

Sounds like a plan, good sir. I've got to work until 2 pm and then fight traffic to get home and change before making the 2 hour drive to Raleigh so I won't have the chance to properly pre-game. That means I'll be double fisting it in the parking lot for an hour or so before face off then continue it in the arena. Hopefully that will allow me to be my usual charming self in the midst of all those fans who took a wrong turn at the race track and accidentally wound up at a hockey game.

Be careful, that one in particular is going to cause trouble.  At one post game tailgate after the Sabres won a down here a few years ago I was high fiving some Sabres fans as they walked by our area, and one of them said something similar to what you have here.  One of my friends immediately jumped the guy.  Luckily, both of them were about 150 lbs max so I was able to play peacemaker, but I'll tell you that Earnhardt comment really struck a nerve.

When the canes fans start going with the Bills  super bowl comments, I tend to just ask them questions about the Panthers, who they of course know nothing about because they are by and large team swapping whores.  And honestly, the Bills have been bad for so long that those comments really don't bother me at all anymore.

Oh yeah, it strikes a nerve. That's why I enjoy saying it so much. One of the handful of times I've gotten kicked out of a game (maybe 07 or 08) I was yelling it over and over as security was escorting me out of the arena while the entire section either boo'd me or applauded security. In my defense some ###### poured his beer over my head then ran back to his seat and I got grabbed by the rent a cops as I way trying to make my way over to him for a little retribution, so I was out of line but I think my reaction was justified.

The comment is definitely in poor taste, but when they go out of their way to piss me off, I have no problem sinking to their level and that statement always gets the job done.
