To those who have been in hiding since last summer.  Welcome back.  I look forward to talking hockey with you again.  I know we are all passionate about our team and no matter how heated the debates get, we all share the same wish...A Stanley Cup Championship.

it is great to be back. the funniest take i heard on jumping back into fandom actually came from that gal who plays in the BPO - many follow her on twitter ( kate holzemer (??)) - she had a vehr funny tweet just before the new year:

Do we really want the Sabres to come back? Have you guys thought about Drew Stafford recently? I mean *really* thought about Drew Stafford?

Glad to be back. I wasn't really gone but i didn't post much and typically would only lurk.  It's gonna be good to roll up the proverbial sleeves and get back in to some hockey.

For what it's worth, many of us never left, and suffered each other through the November election.  

If a Sabre Space user is still here after all of that, and can remain amicable toward the rest of the membership, I would think a Sabres' season is easy enough to survive.

Yeah, but if they win it this year there'll still be bitching because it's 'tainted.'  (Not that I expect them to get a reasonable sniff at it this year.  I see the team relative to the rest of the league being much more like the '95 Sabres than the '05-'06 Sabres.)

I say bring on the taint!

Yup. To be honest I kind of like having the political discussions. Other forums with users as smart as this one tend to ban political threads outright so that wars don't start, but we've managed very well here. Obviously it's important to keep opinions about posters from the politics threads out of the hockey threads, which I'm sure myself and everyone else is capable of doing.

I'm excited for hockey talk again though. Now we can really go at each others throats

I was one who was in hiding and actually got so desperate to talk sports, I went back to TBD and put up with all that crap for a few months. I'm glad hockey is back and glad to be back here at SS.
