I had no idea that Jay was a competitor in this insane sport. Did anyone go to this?
I was there with a bunch of people on Saturday and it was awesome. I've been following the sport for a few years now and it was great to finally get to an event. The crowds are fun, it's FREE as is just downright impressive. Red Bull knows how to throw a party. There is a women's division that runs too, along with various side shows such as rodeo clown style goalie race and an uphill climb race for a wildcard spot to the finals in Quebec.
I don't think Jay ran at all Saturday but fun to know he's participating. He might be the oldest guy doing it.

Helmet cam from one of the participants; skip to 2:20 for the trial run: https://www.youtube....h?v=vofbhjQCqTo
Holy s**t! I think I'd stay on my skates for the first foot, and then slip on my ass the next 12 feet, and cycle like that all the way to the bottom.

That looks like the most fun I would have hurting myself.
That does look like a lot of fun. I can't help but think it's just doing a ski-cross except a lot harder though. Or downhill mountain bike. Or dirt bike up or down hill. You're less likely to get hurt doing those.
