2012-13 Sabres Prospects thread

Saw that Daniel Catenacci had a Gordie Howe hattie tonight. Didn't seem like there was a good thread to post it in, so now we have one!
Cat had a PP goal, an assist, and got into a fight with Windsors resident tough guy after he came in with a high hit, all in a 6-1 win.
Mods, any chance we can pin this so folks have a place to discuss non-Rochester prospects? Maybe until we get NHL games anyway?

Or, maybe Cat got the worst of it?

Cat got the worst of it. But he's showing moxie. I like that. And he seems to be proud of doing it. I like that too.
He threw a high hit on a Windsor player. Problem for Cat was, Windsor's resident tough guy was on the ice at the time. Everything I've read indicated that Cat didn't back down and stood up for himself readily. Good to see.

Thanks, weave.
Great review of the main event.
Hope this kind of attitude continues and is infectious.
If so, the future is looking brighter.

Could be the ice though.
I'm too lazy to compare the video and the picture to see if he did indeed land on the same side of the face. Either way, that fall looked rough.

Good on Daniel for mixing it up even as poorly as he faired.

Outstanding. Hopefully he tears up the Q this year.

Under wishful thinking for future Sabre prospects.
Nathan MacKinnon scored the OT winner, against Cape Breton and a beaut of a one-timer it was, in the Halifax Mooseheads season opener in the Q.

I so want DR to figure out a way to draft MacKinnon!
In other Q action Grigorenko had 4 points in Quebec ...

For anyone who hasn't watched this kid live: He has Mogilny speed and Briere quickness. That's the upside. He isn't big and sometimes makes poor decisions, that's the downside. This kid could be incredible, be a bust (Cyr, anyone?) or somewhere in between. But he is one exciting prospect.

I saw him play in person last year in Kingston. He was like a pinball, all over the ice. Isn't afraid to go to the net or play in traffic. He plays much larger than his size.

They were saying something about that the other day on WGR. I believe they said that the NHL and CHL agreed to let players have that tryout up to a certain date.

I'll go one better. If his team mates call him that, I'll acknowledge the name has merit. Until then I just can't agree on naming the future star centre of the Sabres after a cookie

There was a story about it on tsn earlier in the week. The NHL teams had to submit a limited list if names of guys they could bring up if/when the league starts up. Our only name listed was grigorenko, but I don't know if they had the entire list in that article.
