huh. so it turns out that schumer's presser today is in regard to something quite substantive, and quite specific.

http://www.buffalone...tter to Goodell

basically, schumer wants the G4 loan program (one that would help with the multimillion dollar upgrades to the ralph) to be amended so that it makes sense for the bills to use the program in connection with the lease agreement.

i am guessing that schumer is acting on behalf of the county and/or the bills in an effort to facilitate a new lease deal.

p.s. i ask that time-relevant posts from the prior bills thread be moved over here en masse. this post would be a logical starting point, since it post-dates the superbowl and looks forward to the 2012 season.

I'm confused.  So, are we talking about the Bills in here now instead of the Bills thread?

Let's start making more threads!  :)

I'd like to think that the new season could potentially include playoffs; which if all goes well could reach into 2013 - so the other thread is too restrictive.  :P

Now I'm really confused.  So, are we talking about the Bills in this thread now only if we think they are going to make the playoffs and the other one if we think they aren't instead of in the Bills thread?

So Schumer's presser was what I'll call substantive grandstanding.  It easily could have been done in a letter to the Snooze, and the relocation fee enforcement is trivial at best, but whatever.  I think it would be great if they could actually get G-4 money.

Yes - the other thread is the loser thread.  :)

It's all political over in that 2012 thread.  That can't lead to anything good.

i am fully in favor of the thread that i apparently started (i swear i didn't see the 2-2 tie post from chezzer) being a thread intended only for discussion of the legitimacy of a separate thread for this bills season.

No - I think you would have to start a new thread for that.  :)

Your other thread is about 2012 stadium funding (and the politics that go with that.)

No, it couldn't have.  NO ONE would bring a camera to watch that shameless media ###### type out a letter, or more accurately, to watch that shameless media ###### tell a staffer to type out a letter.

My guess is that, when all is said and done, if Chuck would have given the money wasted in travel and security to the County rather than blow it on travel and security that he could actually have helped keep the Bills in Buffalo. :doh:

Nope.  And I was actually ticked when D'oh-opp started making that argument because that was what I'd been thinking about whenever I'd hear that Chuck was heading to town. :angry:

If you want to change your argument knowing that Schopp had the same one, I don't blame you.  I may rather get behind Schumer's media ###### than agree with Schopp :lol:

The man has a job for life as long as he doesn't move to another state, so I'd guess I have to agree w/ the above.

While I appreciate the offer, I'd prefer to chalk it up to D'oh-opp having the proverbial 'blind squirrel' moment and stick w/ my 1st answer. ;)

I would rather Charles Schumer had spent the day in the City revealing a plan that would pay for a stronger police force and stricter gun laws. I'm starting to believe that Bills like a Casino, a black hole that devours all.

I'm sure most here lurk over there for legitimate info. and such, but choose not to post. It can get.... frenzied from time to time over there and with the increased number of posters comes an increased number of, well, skippable posts.

Plus, there can be an actual conversation here whereas you have to fight just to keep a thread on the first page over there. Again, more posters so more threads.

Doesn't stop me, just throwing in my guess.

I'm of a mind wth the explanations above. There's just too much chaff to separate from the wheat at TSW. I will say this: I've become a nutter for the Buffalo Rumblings blog.

I'll be there, we play pregame, sit in the first eight rows until halftime, and play the halftime show as well, then watch the rest of the game! I'm very excited!

* Rochester, WHAM Channel 13 -- Friday 8 p.m.
* Rochester, CW-WHAM Channel 16 -- Saturday 3 p.m.

Dear Ryan Fitzpatrick:  just because the team is sitting in their base 34 doesn't mean you can forget you have running backs on the roster.

There, my one and only complaint in a totally irrelevant game.

Yea the online streaming is Flash-based, which is why it won't work on the iPhone.
