"They weren't happy just to make it to the playoffs, and I think that is part of how he coaches. He demands a lot from his players, but he's respectful, and he's a positive coach."

No way!!!!

Ruff won the Jack Adams twice!!! If Ruff weren't here, the Sabres would be dead last, rather than 9th!!!! Who the hell wants to draft in the top three when you can be 9th in the conference instead??!!??!

Are you nuts???!!!!!!

/Extreme sarcasm off

There are a lot of guys who should have been the Sabres next coach.   Hooray, and off we go on another 'Lindy sucks and the same five guys can keep telling us how much he sucks and how much better we'd be with X coach even though Lindy ain't going anywhere' thread.  Now it's officially the dog days boys and girls.

While this will no doubt be twisted into a pointless, I'm-bored-and-its-offseason Ruff rant I do think this could be an interesting discussion about Dineen as an NHL coach.

My thoughts on Dineen: While inexperienced I think he could be an excellent head coach. Panthers were good to get him.
My thoughts on Ruff: Proven, good coach with a system that works. His been a good coach working with poor teams but doesn't seem to be the best motivator when the team is down, however this can be attributed to the mental toughness of the team.

I think Ruff deserved one more year at the time given the circumstances. If it was this offseason and Dineen had expressed an interest I would say yes, fire Ruff and hire Dineen. Last offseason, no. However given the fact his not available I don't know of a better coach at the moment so keep Ruff.

Oh....it was implying Chz......but the fact that she jumped on it.....

Whatever. She can imply jerking off in 3 threads about Doan, but when I make a riff off of Nobody's joke or something else...it's the damsel in distress routine.

Hmmnn.....maybe it's time to buy one of those pavers...........

I enjoyed watching Dineen down here last year. I got news for ya, if there's any Sabres who are like Roy and doesn't like being called out by his coach, they certainly wouldn't like Dineen! He did it on a nightly basis. If you sucked, he told the media right after the game and the players knew it. They'd tell you pre-game before the next game that they sucked.... and if they didn't do something about it you're riding the bench or spending time in the press box.

To be fair there is a difference between, as you say, 'jerking off in 3 threads' and calling someone a prostitute, as was implyed I believe.

Not that I really want to get involved.
