1970 beat me to it.
That has to be a Rochester signing.

I knew there was a reason I was still hanging out here.
Buffalo Sabres
Forward John Scott has agreed to germs with the Buffalo Sabres. - Check out http://bit.ly/MN78ZG for more info.

Guy is a monster at 6' 8" tall and 270 lbs.
I'm guessing there will be a couple of d-men moving via trade.

And is he a d-man or forward? I'm getting conflicting sources.

D in Chi, LW in NY. He'll only be on the ice for 20 seconds before he is beating someone up so it doesn't matter.

Does it matter? Two-way only has to do with the AHL salary being different than the NHL one, not anything to do with waiver status.
If you want an enforcer, John Scott is a good choice. If you want him to do anything else, I'm not sure that he's qualified.

I'm thinking that puts him on Roy's line.

The day the Sabres decide to build against one opponent's specific player is the day they concede defeat.
Hey, if Scott is the next Peters (i.e., sitting in the 200s for many games), cool. If he's regularly in the lineup, there are problems.
That said, welcome John Scott! Grab a last name, pull on a blue-and-gold sweater, and let's kick some ass as a Sabre, K?

I expect we play him in a LW role on the 4th line -- I see no benefit to dressing him as a defenseman unless Joe Finley is his partner and the Boston Bruins are the opponent.

If I may: completely and totally useless. He's terrible at everything related to hockey other than fighting....and why would Chara or Lucic fight him? They're smarter players than to be taken off the ice 5 minutes by a worthless goon.

O'Reilly was dumb enough to fight him. Here's to hoping Lucic is that dumb.
