Horrible.
I'm not in the subscription area, and $2.49 a week for digital only is absolutely ridiculous.

Why would I advertise in a medium that was restricted to digital subscribers?

Unfortunately for the news, Bucky and Jerry never break anything and their insights are utterly predictable.
Harrington and Vogl are press release stenographers and microphone holders.
In his time Tim Graham was worth paying for.
FWIW, $10 is hardly a large investment.

To be quite frank, $104 to $130 a year is simply no big deal.
Personally, I ask myself what smokes cost. They're $5 or so here in Va. so I just have to smoke 10 fewer cigarettes a week to break even. I think I can do that -- and maybe I'll be able to eventualy free myself from that filthy addiction.
If you don't like the newspaper, then don't subscribe. If you want Buffalo area news, you'll subscribe. Personally, I like to see what's going on in the old stomping grounds. So I will fork over the money. Like I said, it's no big deal.

For a lot of out-of-towners, maybe not those in NoVa, $100 annually to read it is kind of a big deal. There are a lot of posters in their twenties and early thirties here, and that's real money at a certain age.
At another certain age, or if one is just lucky enough to have the right career/job/whatever at an early age, it's not a big deal.
I can understand some of the disappointment--and I'm happy it's not vitriol--from folks who don't live in Buffalo. I'm also glad that there's a person like you who will subscribe to see what's going on here. I wouldn't do the same with the Post, even though I lived in DC (proper DC, not NoVa, sir!) for 7. (It's just not home, and it's just not that important, as great a paper as it is.)
But as above, I need the News for other reasons, and I've been leeching for about seven years. So it's finally time to pay. Fine. As long as the content is delivered electronically and in an easy-to-access manner, and as long as I don't have to throw out ("recycle") a few pounds of paper every week, I'm in.
