I was going to go find something better, but I remember laughing so hard at that goal that I have to agree. Favorite moment of this past season.

Okay, maybe this one too

Or this

Basically everything Foligno did in that one game.

I like all 3 of the videos posted.  That entire game was epic, and made Foligno a hero in my book.  Legen - Dary.

Sabres up 4-nothing in the Christmas home game.  Regehr trashes Ovechkin at the end boards.

Goose wraps up the unfinished business.

Rick's induction to the Sabres HOF.

Ennis catches the pass from the corner, then saucer passes over a defenders stick to himself for the backhander into the open side of the net.  Sick.

The "concept of Kassian" on its first display.  Milan Lucic had already effectively ended the Sabres season.  All of us were looking for a hero.  It turns out that Zack wouldn't stay with is for long, and he never consistently showed the game that the "concept of Kassian" promised, but for this short moment we all became really excited about what we saw.

For some reason, I remember the most excited I got all season was when Gaustad killed off most of that one penalty by himself. I was thinking to myself, now why could this guy not do this even one other time over his career. It was effort piled on top of effort and was just awesome to see. No video that I can think of...

Too cool in a season with too few highlights.

Komiserik talking tough and making the "flinch fake" before the face off.
Komiserik falling and losing his composure while the rookie goes to the net.
Phaneuf sitting on his butt for endless seconds before grabbing Stafford's stick, helplessly.
Foligno finding Komiserik with choice words while first leaving the ice and then when settling on the bench.
All at a critical time in a critical game.

I can't remember the opponent, score, or period, but with seconds remaining in the period they won the faceoff clean and had a nifty passing play from Pommer to Vanek (Or vice versa) to score a goal.

It was in Montreal... Think they won 3-1. That put them up 2-1 going into the third. Miller stood on his head.

I was thinking that whole game ...

but with special emphasis on Pommer's goal.

The showed up big when it mattered most, beating the team that they needed to catch in the final head-to-head match.  For that one, short moment, they held their fate in their own hands.  Too bad that the rest of the season (all 4 or 5 games of it) went about as badly as it could have.

Just look how Foligno absolutely owns Komisarek on that play. Follows up with his trash talk by BURNING him to the puck. Can't wait to see him play next year.

However my favorite moment would have to have been when Pommer stripped Ovechkin of the puck shorthanded to score on the breakaway. At that point I was convinced they were playoff bound...silly me.

Yup this is mine too.  Four quick passes and the delay by Vanek.  Then he just snipes the top right corner.

Immediately after the first game, Goose publicly acknowledged that he understood his (and his linemates') error.  He knew what he needed to do and at the next available opportunity, he executed to the best of his ability.  You don't have to like the results of the fight, but I respect Goose's path to get there.  And examine the bigger picture: after the first game, some media outlets had labeled the Sabres as lacking courage; the determination that Goose had going into that fight took the wind out of those sails.

28's determination... took the wind out of those sails... that too is laughable as is your defense of 28.  the team failed in that situation and were lacking courage. the whole idea of you better watch it next time fella is laughable as well.  that was a defining moment and the sabs defined themselves soft and gutless .

I gotta disagree. Goose wussed out and his little effort after the fact just made things even sillier.

"Better late than never" does not apply here. Goose made a fool of himself.

I'm not posting a video of my favorite moment because it's too painful to watch.  I'm talking about the Lucic run on Miller and the lack of a response by any Sabre.

That, I believe, was the tipping point for the old core and the realization that the Sabres were in dire and urgent need of team toughness.  As I posted before, I can handle losing, I cannot accept a perceived lack of desire or heart.  The Sabres showed both of those things against the B's that game and I'm genuinely excited that history will not repeat itself this season.

I believe that was the highest ranked fight of the year on hockeyfights.com

For me, my favourite moment in the season was the Washington game as it gave me hope we would not just make the playoffs but we would be a force. And my single favourite moment is Pominville's SH goal in the game. He showed why LR chose him to be a captain. I liked it

Great fight.  I think Glass got the Gordie Howe that night. If I remember correctly he tweeted that McCromick made him earn it
