Watching tonight's game on delay, have stayed out of the GDT, but much respect to the in-game entertainment folks for playing the Cure (Just Like Heaven) at 18:08 of the second period.

This coming December will mark the 15th anniversary of Joe's passing ...  :(

He would have been 65 years old this coming August.

I bet if he were still around he would be belting it out.

NS, have you read Chris Salewicz's Strummer biography "Redemption Song"?  I'm willing to bet you have, but if not, it's actually really good.

I am somewhat ashamed to say that I have not.  I hope to read it one day.  I do watch a lot of documentaries though.  Some are good, but I am not sure how accurate they are.

I have had the pleasure of seeing Joe (both with and after The Clash) perform live and I have fond memories of an amazing talent on stage and don't want that memory tarnished by reading to many takes on Joe's story.  For me he told his own story in his songs.

It's definitely worth the read.  CS was pretty much embedded with Joe from very early on, and Joe's words make up a large portion of the text.

It'll make you cry towards the end though, when it gets to the night he and Mick reunited onstage right before he died.  It made me cry, anyway.

I've been listening to the album Sound & Color by the Alabama Shakes on repeat.

This is my favorite:

It's because your taste in music is objectively correct.

I'm digging the newest Bon Iver album (22, A Million). It may be a little out there for some listeners but it's pure genius to me.

CREEKS and 22 GOD are a good place to start for the newbies.

Anyone see who Korn is going with to replace their bass player (Fieldy) for part of their tour? The 12 year old son of Metallica's bass player Robert Trujillo. I thought it was a joke at first, but apparently not. Pretty crazy.

Went down a 90s 00s rabbit hole today. I don't care what anyone says, the goo goo dolls first 7 albums right up to gutterflower in 02 were damn good. Even Let Love In in 06 adheres to the 3 song rule. Better Days and it's ilk really dragged that band down. I was at the 4th of July show in front of city hall in 04 and they put on a hell of a show.

I question the mental capacity of anyone who would come to blows to defend the honor of Hootie and Blowfish, and have to believe that if they are that cracked, they would most likely win said fight. Therefore I have to decline.

I will pray for you tonight.
