Oh I know Children of Bodom alright, mainly because I had a buddy who was obsessed with them. Honestly, I'm not too into the whole gutteral growling metal, but instrumentally the stuff is good. I'm a big fan of epic metal, unless the lyrics are about dwarfs and enchanted forests n sh*t.

also, been stuck in my head because of an inside joke.

Thats understandable. Its a rather big adjustment from normal singing. There my favorite band.

This seems as good a place as any to post this.  We just released Echo Chamber, my wife's second album and I'm hoping that some of these songs get stuck in people's heads.

This is blatant hawking off my wares.  Please remove if inappropriate

I'd completely forgotten about this thread. I never thought anyone would bump it.

And now that it's back I may a well use it.  That stupid kesha song is driving me insane.  I was going to post this in "that other thread you can post in on certain days but has gone missing for a while" where Ink already posted about this song.

Is it me or does she sound just like the voice of Paris Hilton in the South Park episode titled Stupid Spoiled ######

Not a song, but I can't get the beep beep boop boop boop from "Close Encounters" out of my head. The tin foil hat is not helping.

Great movie. I watched it the other day for the first time since seeing it in the theater in 1977 (or 78).

Anyone ever see the director's cut where they show the inside of the mothership?

I like to think of some Cannibal Corpse (S, R, & S; Coffinfeeder, Make Them Suffer) and Dying Fetus (One Shot, One Kill; Homicidal Retribution) songs while I play World of Warcraft.

I'm posting from my iPhone so I can't use emoticons but the Ryan Miller smiley would be appropriate.

Something about an outwardly Christian individual listening to Cannibal Corpse and Dying Fetus leaves me a little...well... .

Most of my extended family is Christian.  Not just your church going types, but your real hardcore, home schooling, Missionaries in foreign countries, not have sex until were married types.  I can say without a shadow of a doubt, they have never listened to songs named Coffinfeeder or Homicidal Retribution.

I know you're scratching your head over this one.

I grew up listening to metal - but not all of it. (Some of it left much to be desired IMO, i.e. Motley Crue, Poison, Bon Jovi.) It's one of those things that I cannot get rid of. At the same time, I don't think it will send me to hell (just like I think that Christians who can't quit smoking don't go to hell either, but that's getting off topic) - even though there are some out there who would vehemently disagree with me.

In context, though, what I said is that I listen to that kind of stuff when I play World of Warcraft.

so naturally, now the song is stuck in my head.

Fillet of Fish song

Thanks for the link!!!!

So I recently discovered http://www.grooveshark.com .... not sure how long it's been around - check it out: search for songs, create playlists, upload your own songs, create personalized radio station, etc.  It's like iTunes, online, but you can add any song you want.  Pretty neat, I thought I'd share.

And in my head right now?  April in Paris, a Count Basie classic  ;)

Go Sabres....

David Bowie's version of that song, along with George Michael's ultra-gay rendition of "Last Christmas I gave you my heart", take the top 2 on my list of "Gay Christmas songs"

I mean the thought of George Michael's whispering "Merry Christmas" in another man's ear is enough to make me forcefully vomit...
