I was 20 when this song came out in 1985. IMO, not a better time to be in your late teens / early 20s than in the late 70s to mid-80s.
The dance clubs, the music, the clothes, the hairstyles and men not afraid to wear tasteful eye and lip liner.

Taking my 9 year old daughter to this one. Cannot wait. This is going to be the best daddy/daughter date ever.

I'm not complaining. Guess I'm in a nostalgic mood, again.

I have to admit, I know nothing about that band other than what made its way onto popular radio/television (was it just "Creep"?), but that song and video leave me ... intrigued.
At precisely 180 degrees from the artistic integrity of Radiohead, I will confess to the confection that is my current ear worm (I am not proud, just honest):

You're right - there's no shame. Just not a lot of pride, either.
As for the Miley Cyrus clip, I was NOT expecting that at the end.
It reminded me a bit of this:

I always think of The Clash when I think of her. They were the anti-Thatcher.
So, this is in my head now ...
I took a quote from this song for my sig ... about 3:00 minutes in.

By Huddie “LeadBelly” Ledbetter
If you can't understand the dialect, message follows:
We’re in the same boat brother,
We’re in the same boat brother,
And if you shake one end,
You gonna rock the other
It’s the same boat brother
The Lord looked down from his holy place
Said Lawd duh me, what a sea of space
What a spot to launch the Human Race
So he built him a Boat, for a mixed-up crew,
With eyes of Black, and Brown, and Blue.
So that’s how’s come, that You and I
Got just one world, and just one sky.
We’re in the same boat brother,
We’re in the same boat brother,
And if you shake one end,
You gonna rock the other
It’s the same boat brother
So the Boat rolled on
Through storm and grief,
Hit many a rock and many a reef,
What keep them going was a great belief.
That the human race was a special freight
So they had to learn to navigate.
If they didn’t want to be in Jonah’s shoes,
Better be mated on this here cruise.
—Why—
We’re in the same boat brother,
We’re in the same boat brother,
And if you shake one end,
You gonna rock the other
It’s the same boat brother
So the boiler blew, somewhere in Spain,
All the kettle was smashed and 40 cranes.
Steam boat out from the Oregon Main.
Oh, it took some time for the crew to learn
What is bad for the bow ain’t good for the stern.
If a fire took place in China today
Pearl Harbor just gonna blaze away.
We’re in the same boat brother,
We’re in the same boat brother,
And if you shake one end,
You gonna rock the other
It’s the same boat brother.

Your talk about the lunatics put this in my head ...
Terry Hall wrote this song and the Go-Gos turned it into a hit.
I like the original much more. This video has what became the Go-Gos as the band.
